What's an Alternym?

I listen, I listen

But I'm so confused

I'm lost in a daze
No longer amused
I don't understand
I can't concentrate
What do I ask for
So I can relate

Analogies and similes are figures of speech
Synonyms and antonyms are also in reach
How about an idiom or a metaphor
There's so many options which one do I ask for?

I'll make up a word
that's easy to use
Alternym sounds good to me
That's the one I'll choose!

Alternyms should encompass all
connections for anything
Let me ask my dad his thoughts
"Hey dad ya there? Ping!"

Yes my son, what do you need?
Just wanted to share a thought

Alternyms connect all things
That's confusing, I think not!

It should only be relations
    that people can conceive
Everything that doesn't make sense
    it should exclude and leave

But those things we can't explain
    the way they connect together
Doesn't mean they don't relate
it's just something to uncover

How about this my son tell me what you think

The relationships that most understand
    we'll call an alternym
And all your confusing ideas that aren't
will be a fuzzynym

I think I understand you
    but let me try and say
what you're trying to tell me
in my own silly way

An alternym to fuzzynym is an alternym to Dan
The unexplained relations to all known things to man

To find the jump from A to Z can be something hard to see
Until the right person comes along and explains it all to me

Slowly wiggling across the line
    this made up fuzzynym
Ends up with an explanation
    It's now an alternym!

"Oh! Contrary!" said father Gary
    You're missing the point my son
If everything relates together
    will be confusing to everyone

This conflict will continue on for many years I'm sure

What is and isn't an alternym is a big humongous blur!

So when you're confused in conversation
on any given day
Ask them for an alternym
and be curious to what they say!
